Foxmail - Why is it So Popular in China?
In 1998, the 29-year old Zhang Xiaolong () developed Foxmail, a freeware pop mail client. It was the most popular desktop email client in China at that time.
In 2005, Tencent bought the company that owned Xiaolong's e-mail business. Tencent then turned Xiaolong into the lead developer of QQMail, which is the biggest web email service in China today.
QQMail is a massive project that has many moving parts, but one of the key things that has made it work so well is that it was driven by an extremely passionate product manager, who happened to be Zhang Xiaolong. He has a great track record: from developing the most popular desktop email in China, to leading the biggest Chinese web email service, to being the PM behind the dominant Chinese super app WeChat.
Some people assume that macOS apps cost more than PC versions, but they don't have to. While some power tools like Final Cut Pro have price tags that reflect their robust feature sets, most of the best software for Mac won't cost you more than the time it takes to download them.
Softpedia is one of the largest software download sites on the Internet, and its Mac section features thousands of vetted applications that you can download for free. Many of the programs on this site have free trials or demos, but be sure to read the end-user license agreements carefully before you make a purchase decision.
